6 ways to relax during the holiday rush

You know that feeling when the holiday rush sets in, and you start to feel like there are never enough hours in the day?

It’s easy to let yourself get frazzled and stressed out during this time of year, but even if you can’t slow time down, some strategies can help you relax despite your busy schedule.

These tips will teach you how to relax during the holiday rush and will help you find some peace amidst all the chaos.

Listen to Peaceful Music

You can soothe your mind with music. It’s been proven that music has a calming effect on people, which is why many people find themselves listening to classical or instrumental music during stressful times. You may want to consider other types of music: Jazz, country, folk, and new age.

Try out different styles until you find one that suits your tastes. If you’re feeling adventurous, try an audiobook. The best thing about these types of books is that they are read aloud for you!

Enjoy Small Meals More Often

Eating small meals at three hour intervals keeps your blood sugar steady and your stomach from getting too full. This helps prevent overeating at the next meal, helps deter mass hunger and reduces the stress of overeating during the holidays.

Exercise More and Show Some Selfcare

Exercising during the holiday rush can help you feel better about yourself and might even make you less stressed. If you’re already in a rut, exercise is an excellent way to break out. In addition, there are other ways to relax your body and mind during this hectic time of year:

Eat something healthy every day. This includes eating a big breakfast, lunch or dinner, and snacks.

Have a glass of wine in the evening after dinner, but don’t drink any other alcohol. Take a long hot bath with bubbles, light candles, and play soothing music. Take some deep breaths, count to 10 slowly and close your eyes for a moment.

Make some tea by steeping fresh ginger or lemon balm leaves (or both) in boiling water for 10 minutes, strain and drink while it’s still warm.

Finally, take five minutes every day at lunchtime to go outside for some fresh air. You’ll be amazed at how refreshing these simple activities will feel!

Go out with Friends or Family

The holidays can be hectic for everyone with all the cooking, cleaning, and general hustle, and bustle. One way to enjoy yourself without feeling overwhelmed is by spending time with friends or family.

Whether you want to go out for a meal or invite them over for dinner, spending quality time together is always a great idea. You’ll laugh more than you thought possible during this stressful time of year if you take the time to get out and see important people in your life.

Another way to have fun during the holiday season is by going on a winter hike or skiing. There’s nothing better than getting out into nature and enjoying everything that winter offers while getting some exercise simultaneously!

Watch Your Favorite Holiday Movie

Finding time during a holiday season can be challenging, but sometimes you must sit back and relax. One of my favorite things to do during this time is watch my favorite Christmas movies.

With so many different types of movies, here are some of my favorites: It’s a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

Get Enough Sleep

It’s important to ensure you get enough sleep during this hectic season. Sleep deprivation can lead to a lack of energy, irritability, and even burnout. If you are feeling tired and need some help winding down at night, try taking some time for yourself before bed.

Try reading a book or journaling in your favorite notebook. Take a hot bath with some calming aromatherapy oils or listen to some soothing music that helps calm your mind and body.

Remember: If you’re feeling overwhelmed during the holiday season, it’s important not to push through until it becomes detrimental to your health and well-being!
